sunning in sayulita

For those of us lucky enough to escape the winter chills (and, big apologies to those that didn’t!!!) i’ve become a bit of a master on packing the essentials over years of travels.

When packing BE RUTHLESS & VET VET VET! The rule of thumb I utilize is once the initial pack complete remove 10 – 15 items. Seems brutal and extreme I know, but trust – this works!!! If your ever debating over something ditch it as I ‘pinky swear’ your not going to miss it.

Last trip I was still 9 items of clothing overpacked, 6 pieces of jewelry, 1 bathing suit, 1 pair of flip flops and 2 cosmetic palettes. I keep tabs on what I don’t use as to avoid hauling around similar unused items on future travels.

Also, do remember your going to buy things and that we are creatures of habit and will wear the same favourite item over and over and over and over. You say you won’t but you will.

- Tkees, Natives and my sneakers were all that I sported over a 2 week period. Next time would add a pair of blochs or slip-ons for inside.

-This 12th Street by Cynthia Vincent Bag was the perfect beach tote, plane carryon, shopping bag etc etc etc.

- One amazing bikini by L-Space, say goodbye to tan lines and for a strapless it kept the girls in and up (overshare?).

- Jewelry keep it simple and don’t bring your best most favourite if your like me and wear them in the water. Gold and silver mixed transitions with almost any outfit.

- 1 skookum pair of Matthew Williamson shades and 1 pair that cost me $20 bucks that I don’t care if I loose, scratch, sit on, throw in bottom of bag and so on.

- A Peace Treaty cashmere scarf that doubles as a sarong, pashmina, and a blanket on the plane.

Meow. Cat-tastic eyeliner.

This vintage cat like creation is all over the runways at present. And – guess what??? Totally easy to accomplish I kid you not!

The trick is to use Geisha Liner. The best liquid eyeliner in the world. We feel that it was created for those lacking technical skills in the eyeliner department.

Start by drawing a straight line from the outer corner of your eye going inwards.

Go over the outer edge again once more to create a thicker line. Add 2 coats of Geisha Mascara, groom your brows and throw on a nude lip to complete the look.

Don’t fret, if you stuck and still in need of help… stop by and visit with Hilary. She’s a genius with this thing!
